Melanie’s yoga is a practice that beautifully harmonizes the
energy which flows between body & mind.
She has a unique way of simplifying poses, creating an ease of balance,
strength & grace. Her soothing voice
and soft presence creates a safe space where students from all levels can feel
comfortable in their own skin and continue to advance in self-discovery. Through her series of strengthening and
flowing poses, the body releases stagnant energy, leading it back to the
natural state of balance. By also
engaging the united power between mind & heart, students discover their
unique inner beauty, resulting in love as the center of their being. When the mind wanders as it does, Melanie
gently brings students back to the present moment, surrendering to the rhythm
of their breath, allowing them to find peace within.
Native to the Boston area, after graduating from Northeastern University in 2007, Melanie accepted a position with Johnson & Johnson and moved across the U.S to Southern California. Melanie continued her dedication to yoga by practicing many forms including Vinyasa flow, Bikram, and Kundalini. She enhanced her technique through teachers such as Saul David Raye, Anna Forest, and Kishan Shah at Exhale Center for Spiritual Movement in Venice, CA.
In March 2012, Melanie felt an urge to discover herself on a deeper level and help others around the world. She left Los Angeles to travel the globe for 10 months, volunteering her time teaching yoga to children in Cuzco, rebuilding homes in Pisco, Peru, bringing her journey to a close at a spiritual community in Costa Rica where she received her teaching certificate in Hatha Yoga. In this training with Adya, her 7 years of yoga practice was brought to a higher and deeper understanding, bringing the essence of Yoga back to her practice, inspiring Melanie to teach from her authentic self.
Melanie currently resides in West Hollywood, CA, frequently traveling to the Boston area. She teaches private to small group yoga lessons in order to give each individual the attention they deserve. Frequently, Melanie puts together donation based classes in the park or at the beach, contributing 50% of her profits to the Children in Cuzco at Sembrando Semillas.
